The greatest movie of all time is about to get better. Available in September, The Godfather: The Coppola Restoration is on the must-have list for fall DVD and – better still! – Hi Definition BluRay. Both Godfather I and II have been restored and the often-maligned, underappreciated third installment has been fully remastered. Included in the 5 disc set are the usual extra scenes and interviews you find on most box-sets, but for the hardcore film buffs among us there’s detailed info on the restoration process itself as well as a few short films.

Little fanfare and a lot of depth is how AMC debuted Mad Men, their dark, sumptuous, now double Golden Globe-winning take on the ad game in the early '60's. Their strategy has clearly paid dividends: Mad Men is a critical darling and now one of the most hotly anticipated DVD releases of the summer. If you haven't seen it, use the next two weeks to catch up before the second season premieres on July 27th. You'll be drinking and smoking at work before you know it.

Remember Family Matters? Of course you do! For nine seasons, Urkel and co. anchored the Friday night TGIF lineup on ABC. Followed by, oh, I don't know - ten years of syndication and voila! - you've got yourself an American institution on your hands. Relive all the moments with the complete series box set. Highlights include appearances by Donna Summer as Aunt Oona from Altoona, Larry Brown as a basketball-playing grandma, and, of course, the never-ending fun of tracking the progression of Eddie Winslow's high-top fade.

Indy fans rejoice! Right in time for the long-awaited premiere of The Crystal Skull, Paramount has dropped Indiana Jones: The Adventure Collection, a three-disc ouevre featuring special edition versions of the first three installments of the series. Why should I buy this, you might ask? Well, if you don’t already own these movies, question answered. If you DO own them, well, you don’t have the special edition that all your IMDB-board buddies are sure to hold over your head and use to undermine your credibility. Introductions to each film by both Lucas and Spielberg, storyboard sequences, photo galleries, countless interviews, and behind-the-scenes explanations are also included, in case you need some tangible reasons to own yet another box-set.

I watched Darjeeling Limited, a Wes Anderson movie, the other day. It was one of those quirky movies with dry humor- which I personally love the most. I find his movies visually stimulating too. Darjeeling Limited is about three estranged brothers played by Owen Wilson, Jason Schwartzman, and Adrien Brody who search for their mother in rural India. It is good! Next is Rushmore, I have to watch that one again.

The gang are back. Futurama, like Arrested Development (and others), are great shows that faced an untimely demise. I watched this movie about 5 times and I think the writers are superb (I felt the same about the series before it was taken off the air too). If you are not a fan and are Bender curious, I suggest starting from season one. Unfortunately there are lots of references to previous shows so it is best to get up to speed. This is a must have. I look forward to the next installment later this year!

Cloverfield (Directed by Matt Reeves) was a good movie. I wish it wasn't all shot at night and it's not suitable for people with acute vertigo. The dvd inlcludes alternate endings which I think fills a void the original movie left. It is about five young New Yorkers who throw their friend a going-away party the night a monster the size of a skyscraper descends upon the city. It's told from the point of view of their video camera, the film is a document of their attempt to survive the most surreal, horrifying event of their lives. [source ]
Director: Matt Reeves
Genre: Mystery, Adventure, Thriller, Action (No, I don't consider it science fiction)
Actors: Lizzy Caplan, Jessica Lucas, T.J. Miller and Odette Yustman
Ratings (Rotten Tomatoes): 6.7/10
My Rating: 6/10

There Will Be Blood is a double Oscar winning movie loosely adapted by Paul Thomas Anderson from the 1927 novel OIL! There Will Be Blood chronicles the life of Daniel Plainview, a self-made oil tycoon, played by Daniel Day-Lewis. The movie deals with power, love, faith, hope, ambition and oil and the things they bring when mixed together. This is a must have.

The Wire is the most engaging and 'real' show I've seen in recent memory. If you haven't watched Seasons 1 through 4, do it now. The finale of Season 5 (the final season for the show) is absolutely amazing. The Wire deals with the drug culture of inner-city Baltimore and it sheds light on the delicate and at times volatile systems in play in society. There is no point of view that is ignored in the show. Consider it an artifact.
